In this session Aaron Hix will speak on lead dust hazards, highlighting the confusion caused by varying hazard and clearance levels set by the EPA and local agencies. Previous standards were inconsistent and based on outdated science. He will explain that recent legal action mandates the EPA to base lead dust standards on health science, which could lead to stricter regulations. He will stress the importance of understanding local laws, accurate testing, and prioritizing safety in lead abatement efforts.
